'Neural data analysis: learning from other disciplines' Workshop - 21st-23rd September, Newcastle UniversityThe workshop will be very unusual as we aim to bring together scientists from a variety of areas who analyse complex data, with the aim of exploring whether their methods can be useful in neural data analyses. 'Neural data analysis: learning from other disciplines' WorkshopVarious Speakers The workshop will begin with some brief didactic lectures by neuroscientists aimed at setting the scene, and making sure that all present understand some of the problems in neural data analysis. The great majority of the time on the first two days will then be devoted to presentations by scientists from other disciplines. On the third day we will break into groups and discuss particular methods that might be applicable to neuroscientists. During this we will have access to computer clusters, running software such as MATLAB. Participants will be encouraged to bring example datasets, and examples of code which instantiates particular analysis methods. We hope that the third day will allow active exploration of what is possible, and seed further in depth collaborations. If you are interested in attending this workshop please register here. Further details of the programme will be posted shortly and also you will be able to find details on the Spike Train website Events page www.spiketrain.org. If you have any questions about registering or would like to find out more about this workshop please contact Edina Tozser, the Project Secretary. Document Actions |
